SHIBAURA

Shibaura is a district of Minato ward located in Tokyo, Japan. The district is located between the eastern side of the Yamanote Line train and Tokyo Bay. Shibaura is the home to a number of major Japanese corporations including Toshiba (originally Tokyo Shibaura Electric) and Oki. Also located in the Shibaura area is Zojo-ji Temple, built in 1393. It serves as the headquarters of a Buddhist sect and is famous as the site of the graves of the shoguns of the Tokugawa family.

SHIMBASHI

Shimbashi

SHIMBASHI

Shimbashi was the Tokyo terminus of the first railway in Japan in 1872. It remains a major railway hub and has since developed as a commercial center, most recently with the construction of the Shiodome "Shiosite" high-rise office complex. Shimbashi Station has been reconstructed and houses a railway history exhibit and a restaurant.
